Codominance is a relationship between two versions of a gene. Individuals receive one version of a gene, called an allele, from each parent. If the two alleles are different, they will both be expressed equally in the phenotype.
Alleles: Different forms or variations of a gene that can occupy the same locus on a chromosome.
Genotype: The genetic makeup or set of genes within an organism’s DNA responsible for determining specific traits or characteristics.
Heterozygous: A term used to refer to an organism that has two different alleles for a single trait.
