Galen was a Greek physician, surgeon and philosopher in the Roman Empire. He is considered one of the most accomplished medical researchers in Ancient history. His theories dominated European medicine for over 1,000 years.
Humoral Theory: The theory proposed by Hippocrates that Galen further developed into an elaborate system explaining how imbalances in bodily fluids could cause disease.
Anatomy: A branch of biology concerned with the study of body structure which Galen contributed significantly towards through his dissections and studies.
