Plantations are large agricultural estates typically found in tropical or subtropical climates where cash crops like sugar cane or cotton are grown on a large scale. Mines refer to excavated areas where minerals or other geological materials are extracted from the earth.
Cash Crops: These are crops produced for their commercial value rather than for use by the grower; examples include tobacco, tea, coffee etc.
Slave Labor: This refers to forced labor where people (slaves) are considered property of others who control them.
Colonialism: A practice of domination involving the subjugation of one people to another usually by establishing colonies.
