Definition

The theory of natural selection is a process proposed by Charles Darwin that explains evolution. According to this theory, organisms with traits that better enable them to adapt to their environment will survive and reproduce more offspring than those with less advantageous traits.

Mutation: These are changes in an organism's DNA sequence. They're like unexpected plot twists in a story - sometimes they can lead to interesting developments (beneficial mutations), other times not so much (harmful mutations).

Genetic Variation: This is the difference in DNA among individuals within a population. Imagine if you mixed up different colors of paint - each mix would be slightly different, just like each individual has slight differences in their genetic makeup.

Fitness: In evolutionary terms, fitness refers to an organism's ability to survive and reproduce effectively. It’s like being good at a sport – the better you are at it (the fitter you are), the more likely you'll succeed!
